Play Based Learning

Our play-based programs are developed according to your child’s interests, beliefs, discoveries and questions. Our programs reflect the fact that children learn through well planned and well organized play experiences. We plan to develop children’s strengths in beautiful, thoughtfully resourced environments.

Our programs are based on the Early Years Learning Framework with a strong emphasis on play based learning.

We promote play based learning as it draws from the child’s natural desire to engage in experiences based on their interests, strengths and developing skills.  Our role as educators is to support this learning and link back to the framework, giving children a sense of being, becoming and belonging along the way.

School Readiness Program

NurtureOne centres provide an extensive School Readiness/ Kindergarten program aimed at preparing children for school and beyond.

This program assists in the development of confidence, independence, social skills and learning ability; making the adjustment to school life a little easier.

Our qualified teachers plan detailed and specific programs that are relevant to the individual child’s interests, family, culture and local community. Our program promotes social, physical, emotional, linguistic and cognitive growth and focuses on language and literacy, the visual arts and crafts, music, singing and dance, stories, mathematics, science, social studies, writing and reading, games and play.

We aim to guide your child in becoming an effective learner through creating an environment that is challenging and stimulating.

Our Environment

We acknowledge the importance of providing an aesthetic, fun and stimulating environment.

We strive to achieve a homelike and nurturing environment.

We believe children should be given an opportunity to explore their own environment according to individual preference and competence while respecting individuals, resources and environments. We work towards exposing children to natural environments and endeavour to reflect this in our rooms and playscape.

NurtureOne believes in a sustainable approach.  We aim to educate our children on the benefits and importance of sustainability.

Approaches taken by NurtureOne include wherever possible:

  • Recycling waste materials including plastics, glass, paper and cardboard
  • Use of food scraps for worm farms and the making of compost
  • Converting playscapes to a more natural environment
  • Monitoring power consumption to educate staff and children on ways of minimizing energy usage
  • Addition of solar power generation units

Our Educators

We are enthusiastic in professionally developing our educators in the field of Early Childhood Education, with a view that highly qualified educators need to be at the forefront of education for young children as this leads to positive outcomes for children.

We value the strength of our educational team and work closely with each other to provide an environment where children can develop to their full potential

We believe that our educators work best in a happy and well supported work environment. Our team are passionate about children and early education.

Our educators set personal and professional development goals in order to continue providing the best care and education for children. To support this we endeavour to keep up to date with current issues, trends and learning in the early childhood field.  Our educators are encouraged to continually upgrade their skills and qualifications and we support them in doing so.

We also aim to ensure our teams have fun and enjoy their work.

Development Portfolio

Our learning experiences are well documented in profiles allowing input from all key people in your child’s life. The document develops throughout the year creating a record of the growth of your child.

Our educational philosophy, daily journals and child profiles reflect the developmental stages and interests of the individual child and are made available for all families to access.  Our programs reflect current innovative thinking and ongoing improvements.

Working in partnership with families

Our families are seen as ‘partners’ in our work. We approach our families with understanding, support and interest to work together for the good of the child. Our families are a valued resource and are encouraged to be involved decision makers in educational and developmental decisions regarding their child.

We take the time to build strong relationships with our families and the community as this promotes a program that develops in children a sense of belonging and a passion for learning.

“Our aim is to provide comfortable Homelike environments for your child to thrive. We aim to care for your child as you would at home.”

We believe in encouraging feedback from families and communities so as to continually improve. We strive to provide the best service for children. We are active in sourcing the most skillful, dedicated and enthusiastic early childhood educators to suit the needs of children.
